Criminal Traffic Violations, including DUI
There are traffic tickets, and criminal traffic violations.
Criminal traffic violations can be confusing as many times police officers don’t actually take someone to jail for a violation. While someone is always taken to jail for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), other criminal traffic violations include, but are not limited to Reckless Driving, No Valid Driver’s License, Expired Driver’s License, Driving on a Suspended License (Knowingly), Expired Tag (more than 6 months) Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Racing, and Tag Not Assigned.
These types of violations usually require a court appearance, but can often be resolved with a lawyer negotiating a resolution prior to court. Even if no resolution is obtained prior to court, often times a lawyer can appear on behalf of the client and resolve the case without the client having to appear in court.
